We had a lovely morning today, started out around 9°C and made it to 16°C so it was jacket weather but beautiful sunshine and a nice breeze. By the end of our journey through Japan it will get to around 23°C. Absolutely loving it!
We started out visiting the local shoping arcades which are incredible. Everything is so nicely presented and much is hand made and individually wrapped. The supermarket puts ours to shame haha. Everyone is very polite and helpful. Lots more respect and self-discipline here! Impressive.
We have been extremely lucky with our timing to have our first day in Tokyo with Sakura out in full bloom! It was amazing, City was a buzz with spring fever activities. Clean city streets with beautiful cherry trees and temples is mesmerising. We feel very blessed and priviledged to see it like this.
Our camera photos are better (Unable to get these to my phone) but here is a couple of shots from Ueno Park. We had a picnic (with previously bought nom noms) in the park under a ceiling of cherry blossom and visited the temples where the people were taking part in their customs. I'm trying to learn as much as I can, it was a special and peaceful experience.
Disney Land tomorrow. Exploring further Saturday. Imperial Palace (Old Edo Castle?), Akhihabara, Shinjuku, Shibuya, Roppongi on the list.
