Today we started out by visiting Central Tokyo and finding a gem of a street that was snowing cherry blossom. Looked beautiful, we had a morning coffee and enjoyed the view. It was beautiful watching it snow onto Erin's blonde hair. I could tell she wanted to twirl in the street, but she wasn't all that well today.
We then went searching for the imperial palace grounds, where a Japanese wedding was happening. The imperial grounds was a huge area housing Edo Castle and surrounded by a moat and parks. We could only cover half of it, lol. You need to ride around it or mo-ped it. Cars drive around it. We walked a long way today! Resting up tomorrow for sure. Was great to be where the Emperor's residence is.
We then trecked out to Hibya Park, which was stunning. We had a traditional Japanese lunch under the cherry blossoms, men were there in tradtional dress meeting about something.
Akhihabara was next, electric town. I was in heaven. Electronics, gaming, hobby shops, radio shops, huge camera shops multi storey, figurines, trading cards. Was also lots of Japanese girls trying to sell u (and Erin)....experiences that u don't want to even describe lol. Scary. Crazy place, crazy.
Samsung isn't popular here, you can guess why... Hardly any Samsung products available. Lots of Sony, Fujitsu, NEC, Toshiba, Panasonic and rebranded products. Korea is a competitor country! Maybe also ties in well with Korea not well liked. Not sure on that though. Though Japan is testing their national warning system on Tuesday in a northern prefecture (i think) due to north korea launching a test rocket. Fun! Not.
We didn't find a good price on an Asus Transformer Prime but after much research on my overstressed mobile tonight I've found a place near Tokyo Station that we'll hit tomorrow for it. $120 less Au best price. Yay! Then we jump on the bullet train to Nagano bound for our next hotel. Exciting! Central Japan here we come.
P.S - Like my awesome shirt Erin bought for me? And the epic apple? Strawberries here are incredible. Didn't see any Imported from Australia text though. I checked straight away....
