We so didn't want to leave Notonosho! But the trip must continue! We were served a lovely Japanese breakfast in our private dining room that morning. We managed to hang around until midday in Wajima after buying a nice twin pair of chopsticks in the Ryokan as a kind of thanks for how much they were doing for us. After being personally escorted and driven around Wajima again by old mate we decided to buy a couple of Wajima wares from the craftworks (where we watched them do their craft yesterday). Photo below doesn't really do them justice. Some of the items they make incorporate Gold Leaf (from down south from Kanazawa) which is incredible looking and very expensive. Not for us! There were items in there that made your eyes pop out.
We made our way back on the bus to Wajimaonsen station and caught the limited express train to Kanazawa (50mins) for our 4 night stay. Like many of the train stations/subway stations here, Kanazawa station is a mega mall and a marvel of engineering. The japanese engineers and architects are incredible with their ideas and designs. We asked the fountain the time and then proceeded to our hotel.... Tonight and tomorrow is rest, catch up and washing day before we hit the sights of Kanazawa. We're staying in Miyako Hotel Kanazawa right near the station and there's an old english style tour bus that does the circuit. We're going to try it :P
Kanazawa looks like it's doing very well economically and everyone seems to be shopping, looks expensive here! Kanazawa is supposedly called little Kyoto.
I've decided not to buy a Tablet PC yet because I've found out that Asus is bringing out the Eee Pad Infinity this month and it's much better than the Transformer Prime and cheaper. It has everything I want too so I'll wait. Be great if it comes out in stores in the next 2 weeks. Most gear here is cheaper if you look around. Probably going to grab 2 SSD's while we're here since they're cheaper than AUS. http://www.kakaku.com/ has been a gem.
